Door-swing markup
Supplier drawings are usually shown with everything shut. We would add the dishwasher, oven, fridge and cupboard doors in their open positions, then mark the remaining passage.
For our construction check, Sweet Homes needs the chimney breast, deep window reveal and out-of-square walls on a measured drawing. A fridge may fit between two lines and still stop short of the angle needed to remove its drawers.
We normally preserve one route before pricing an island. In one flat it may run from the hall to the back door; in another it is the standing space beside an open dishwasher.
Sink and extract routes
The waste from a moved sink needs a workable fall to the existing route, sometimes through a floor or cabinet already carrying other services. An extract route may meet a common part or a listed elevation.
The homeowner’s designer checks the layout and approval route. A structural engineer designs structural work. Sweet Homes builds from the information issued to us, with certification from our electrician and gas engineer where those trades are included.
Where that route remains unknown, the quotation may state an assumption or identify limited opening up. The named area might be the floorboard immediately below the proposed sink cabinet.
For a kitchen renovation, we use the supplier drawing for product codes, handed doors, panels and appliance models. Check access to the stopcock as well as the cabinet dimensions. A proposed radiator change can also clash with a unit or the doorway. If a tall unit arrives damaged, its replacement may mean another large delivery around the tenement stair.
Clients often stay at home during a single kitchen renovation. Rewiring or extensive plumbing and heating work can leave no sink and several isolated circuits at the same time. The contract records any temporary service commitment, and Sweet Homes may suggest a holiday over the dates shown there.
