# Home Renovations in Dunfermline and South-West Fife

Sweet Homes renovates homes in Dunfermline and south-west Fife: kitchens, bathrooms, loft and garage conversions, and whole-house and flat renovations. We supply and fit everything we install, so one company answers for both the materials and the workmanship.

Every project starts with your enquiry and a follow-up phone call. A site visit follows where useful, then the written quotation. For major projects, allow at least four weeks from your first enquiry. Smaller or urgent work may be possible sooner; dates are agreed separately. Tell us what you need and when.

## Where we work in Fife

We take on work in the KY11 and KY12 postcode districts and in Aberdour: Dunfermline, Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, North Queensferry, Limekilns, Charlestown and Aberdour. We do not currently take on work in Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Cupar or St Andrews.

Sweet Homes is an Edinburgh contractor, and a job in Fife runs the same way as a job in Edinburgh: the same sequence, the same supply-and-fit rule and the same written quotation.

## What we renovate in south-west Fife

Each page below explains how we run that kind of project. They are written for Edinburgh homes, and the way we work is the same on this side of the Forth.

## How a project starts

Send the property details and what you are planning, with any drawings and a few photographs. We reply by email, then arrange a follow-up call to work through the brief. A site visit is agreed afterwards where useful. The written quotation sets out the agreed work. Send your enquiry by form or email. We will reply and arrange a follow-up call to talk through the project.

For major projects, allow at least four weeks from your first enquiry. Tell us what you need and when. That time covers the call, the site visit, the written quotation, your decision and the ordering that has to happen before trades arrive, so we are not the right firm for an emergency repair.

For the full sequence and each party's responsibilities, see [how Sweet Homes works](/how-we-work/).

## Building warrants in Fife

Where a job changes the structure or the layout, we tell you at the start whether a building warrant is needed, and no work starts until it is granted. The Scottish Government's homeowner guidance lists converting a loft or garage into a room and building or removing load-bearing walls among the common cases that need one. In Fife the warrant is granted by Fife Council.

You appoint the architect, structural engineer and building-warrant route where the proposal needs them. Sweet Homes remains the contractor: we read that information and price the work it describes.

Our [plain guide to building warrants](/building-warrant/) explains which work needs one and the order things happen in. It is written for Edinburgh and West Lothian, and the building regulations are the same across Scotland.

## We supply and fit, never labour only

We supply and fit every job, whatever its size. We do not offer labour-only work and we do not offer fit-only work. When one firm buys the materials and carries out the work, you have one clear line of responsibility if something goes wrong, rather than an argument between the product and the fitting. If you have already chosen products, send the product codes and we will check availability and suitability before confirming the products in the quotation.

We are members of Edinburgh Trusted Trader and the Federation of Master Builders, and every job is covered by our [workmanship warranty and aftercare](/workmanship-warranty-and-aftercare/).

We supply and fit every job. We do not offer labour-only work and we do not offer fit-only work. We purchase the agreed products as part of the renovation.

Send your enquiry by form or email. We will reply and arrange a follow-up call to talk through the project.

That period covers the call, the site visit, the written quotation, your decision and the ordering that has to happen before trades arrive. If something needs attention sooner than that, say so on the call and tell us what you need and when so we can discuss whether the work fits our service and availability.

**Do I need a building warrant?**

Converting a loft or garage into a room, and building or removing a load-bearing wall, are among the common cases that need one. Where your job changes the structure or the layout, we tell you at the start whether a warrant is needed. No work starts until Fife Council has granted it.

### Will you fit a kitchen or bathroom we have already bought?

No. We supply and fit every job, whatever its size, and we do not offer labour-only or fit-only work. If you have already chosen products, send the product codes and we will check availability and suitability before confirming the products in the quotation.

### How much will it cost?

**How much will it cost?**

The written quotation follows the call and the site visit, and is based on the measured property and the chosen specification. For early planning, our [renovation cost guide](/renovation-cost-guide/) sets out indicative bands for Edinburgh homes.

### What happens after we enquire?
