## Start with the equipment list

We need to know what will sit on the desk, what stays powered, what needs data, where video calls happen and which equipment must remain reachable. A laptop and one screen ask for something different from two monitors, a desktop tower, printer, speakers and a router.

The fitted work may include a desk, drawers, shelving, closed storage and accessible cable routes. Sockets and lighting can be coordinated through the competent electrician we appoint. The electrical work and certification remain with that trade.

We measure the alcove and wall before fixing the desk depth. Older walls are rarely square. An external wall with existing damp or mould staining needs investigation before joinery closes the view or reduces air movement behind it. Damp work is not sold here as a separate service.

We leave access where equipment, sockets or connections may need attention. The cable routes stay reopenable.

## What the quotation needs to define

The measured design records the layout, visible materials, finish, hardware, electrical work and installation scope. We mark equipment ventilation and future access on it.

Every home office is priced from the measured design rather than from a standard price list, because the joinery, materials and installation scope differ from room to room. Your written quotation states the full VAT-inclusive figure for the agreed scope before any work is booked.

We can include a home office inside a wider renovation. Whether a small standalone brief fits the current service is confirmed during the initial conversation rather than promised universally here.
