# About Sweet Homes Edinburgh

## How Sweet Homes works

We work in [Edinburgh tenements](/tenement-renovations-edinburgh/) and villas. Most projects are Victorian flats in Marchmont or Stockbridge, with some Georgian and listed-building work in the New Town. Every project begins with [a scope written in plain English](/how-we-work/), broken into sections, with what is included and what is not set out line by line. Joinery is built and test-assembled in our off-site workshop before it comes to site, which keeps dust and noise out of your kitchen for the longest possible stretch of the job. The site is tidied at the end of every day, not at the end of the project. The team you meet at the first site visit is the team that finishes the snag list. Sweet Homes stays small because of the doorway test: when you have a question, there should be one person you can find in a doorway and settle it with, and that only works if the same person runs every project. Small in this case means three to five projects at a time, not a backlog of fifteen.

## Brunon Rogowski, founder

**Brunon Rogowski** manages the business and looks after operations; the hands-on team handles the daily processes on site. The standard the team works to is one Brunon spent fourteen years on Edinburgh building sites learning to recognise, mostly in shared stairs and period flats. Before the sites, he spent six years at Apple Developer Connection, fielding something close to a hundred thousand calls from software developers whose code had broken at two in the morning.

## Anna Osicka-Rogowska, finance and operations

**Anna Osicka-Rogowska** manages the Sweet Homes finance team. She has a science degree, and the team works to the same kind of method. The systems that decide whether a renovation feels calm or chaotic, from the way a quote is itemised to the way a supplier delay is handled before it reaches the client, are run by her team.

## Beyond Sweet Homes

Alongside the building firm, we run [cooltake](https://cooltake.ai/), a small consultancy that helps other trades and small firms use AI for the everyday admin. A lot of what we learned came from automating our own quotes, invoices and enquiries first, and it feeds straight back into how we run jobs here.
